Description of the organisation

The main objective of the Office’s activity is to take care of the health of the municipality’s residents, to carry out municipal public health care regulated by the laws and other legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania in the territory of the municipality (several municipalities), with the aim of reducing the morbidity and mortality of the population, improving the quality of life by providing high-quality public health care services.

Good practice

The project of youth-friendly health care services (JPSPP) is implemented together with the Public Institution Druskininkai Primary Health Care Center and runs the “Green Corridor” for young people aged 14-29.

Often, young people have to wait in a long line for a simple consultation with a specialist, which is one of the reasons why youngsters don’t receive answers related to their health condition.

The green corridor is a relief for young people, an opportunity to talk with a specialist in the required field. Services are confidential, non-discriminatory and free of charge.

Consultation is provided within a week!

The aim is to disseminate and educate young people on topics important to health:

  • Prevention of the use of psychoactive substances;
  • Prevention of alcohol consumption;
  • Prevention of depression;
  • Prevention of suicides and self-harm;
  • Prevention of eating disorders;
  • Prevention of health disorders related to overweight and obesity;
  • Prevention of sexually transmitted infections and unplanned pregnancy;
  • Prevention of sexual violence.

Target audience

For youth from 14 till 29 years
